Guide, Support, Advise


CyberGuide Role

CyberGuides are mentors for students and Team Advisors. CyberGuides answer student questions about science and engineering and participate in CyberGuide Live Chats. They inspire students to challenge themselves and explore the possibilities of STEM careers. CyberGuides volunteer virtually during the day and/or evening between September and April.

Who are CyberGuides

CyberGuides must have a strong background in science or engineering. CyberGuides are often STEM professionals, college/university faculty, post-secondary students studying STEM, military personnel, or individuals with a background in STEM who are interested in mentoring students during the eCYBERMISSION competition.

Role Requirements

  • A strong background in science or engineering
  • Current or former experience with science, engineering, or STEM education OR
  • Current post-secondary student studying science, engineering, or STEM education
  • A satisfactory background check, conducted by eCYBERMISSION, is required
  • CyberGuides must be 18 years or older
  • CyberGuides should enjoy sharing their STEM experiences with students in grades 6 to 9

CyberGuides may additionally volunteer as Ambassadors OR Virtual Judges.
